TRUSTED FENCING CONTRACTORS

Fencing Contractors Maida Vale, WA, 6057

I’m Bobby, and I run the crew that builds fences in Maida Vale, WA(6057) and the surrounding Perth Hills foothills. Blocks around here tend to slope, with rock or clay a short way down, so I walk the site myself before I put a price on it. Whoever quotes your job stays on it, and my own team does the building.

Fences and matching gates come from the same crew, so the colour, height and finish line up from the first post to the last latch.

WHAT WE DO

Fencing Services in Maida Vale

Fencing Contractors Joondalup

Maida Vale Colorbond Fencing & Matching Gates

Choose any colour from the standard Colorbond range and the height you need. We also make the gate in the same colour and profile, as a single or double gate, so it reads as part of the fence. On a slope the sheets step down with the ground. Darker, earthy shades like Woodland Grey and Ironstone sit well against the hills, and the steel itself doesn’t burn, which counts for something near bushland. See the most popular Colorbond fence colours in Perth for a side-by-side look.

Pool Fencing Maida Vale

Pool fences get checked by an inspector, so looks aren’t enough. Ours are built to the Australian pool barrier standard, with gates that close and latch by themselves.

Vertical slat fencing Perth

Slat Fencing, Matching Gates & Rural Fencing

Aluminium slats let you screen off a yard without blocking the breeze, and the gate is made to match the fence. Fences and gates are made to your measurements and design. Bigger properties may suit a sliding driveway gate, wood-and-mesh runs along paddock edges, or heavier security fencing. We can fit a lock to the gate as well. See all services.

Fence Repairs & Retaining Walls

Did a storm knock something over? Send photos. We’ll tell you plainly whether a few posts and sheets will do or the whole run should go. If the block needs holding back, we can build the retaining wall as well. Old asbestos-cement fences can be taken out, disposed of properly and swapped for Colorbond or slat.

COASTAL EXPERTISE

Fencing in Maida Vale: Local Conditions

Maida Vale sits where the flat land begins to climb into the Perth Hills. For fencing, that means sloping blocks, footings that hit rock or clay, and long boundaries on bigger lots. I won’t name a footing depth until I’ve seen your block, because the ground decides it.

The City of Kalamunda sets the local rules, and parts of the hills may be mapped as bushfire prone, so look up your address on the DFES map. The City lets you build a front fence up to 1.2 m without approval. Taller non-masonry fences, higher masonry fences and retaining walls of 500 mm or more need a building permit. Details are on the City’s building page. Fences shared with a neighbour are mostly a matter between the two of you. If you’re replacing a fence, it’s worth planning the gate at the same time, because a gate on a slope needs its own clearance to swing or slide.

We also take jobs in High Wycombe, Forrestfield, Kalamunda and Midland.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Maida Vale Fencing FAQs

Colorbond is steel, and steel doesn’t burn. BlueScope points to CSIRO research that ranked steel boundary fencing ahead of other materials in bushfire conditions. No fence is fireproof, though. Check your address on the DFES map, and ask the City of Kalamunda if you’re also building or renovating.

Colorbond sheets step down the slope, and each post is set to suit what’s underneath, whether clay, rock or sand. If the ground needs holding back, a retaining wall of 500 mm or more needs a City of Kalamunda building permit. We build retaining walls and will explain the options at the visit.

Yes. We make Colorbond gates in the same colour and profile as the fence, as single or double gates, and aluminium slat gates to match a slat fence. We supply and install each gate together, so the fit and colour match the fence beside it. For a wide driveway on a larger Maida Vale block, a sliding gate is another option. See what affects the price in our Colorbond gate cost guide

You can put up a front fence to 1.2 m without approval. Two thresholds to know in Kalamunda: building permits kick in for plain non-masonry fences taller than 1.8 m and for masonry ones taller than 750 mm. Taller front designs are assessed under the City’s front fencing policy, so check before you order.

The Dividing Fences Act’s starting point is an even split for a fence that does the job, though anything you and your neighbour agree in writing comes first. Speak to your neighbour early. Don’t pull down an old fence without their consent: the City of Kalamunda notes that’s an offence under the Building Act. See the Building and Energy guide.

Four things move the price: how long and tall the fence is, the colour and number of gates, whether an old fence has to come out, and how tricky the ground and access are. On Maida Vale’s slopes, rock and fall tend to matter most. My Colorbond fencing cost guide shows the starting rate, and the final price comes after I’ve measured your block. When you compare quotes, line them up item by item: tear-out, posts, gates and rubbish removal should each be covered.

Pool barriers must meet AS 1926.1-2012 and are inspected by your local government, which here is the City of Kalamunda. New pools and barrier changes can need a building permit, so call them first. See Building and Energy’s pool rules.
